Gabriele Vinci designed The Faded Black Collection to share the same LUTs he uses daily with other filmmakers.
What makes expert color grading so special?
How do professional videomakers achieve a cinematic style in their videos while maintaining consistency across their whole body of work?
How do they manage to process black and transform it into a soft dark grey?
If you ever wondered about this, then these LUTs are what you’re looking for.
The purpose of the design project was to set up the Tone Curve so that the black fades into a soft grey while retaining the overall contrast and light balance. Each color was processed with a specific setting related to the Hue, Saturation, and Luminance to achieve a distinct tonal style.
The Outdoor collection includes 30 high-quality tailor-made LUTs that will help you step up your video game instantly.
If you’re still not convinced, feel free to take a look at Gabriele Vinci’s work and visit his Instagram profile. If you like his style, then you will love the Faded Black.

The LUTs he’s now offering, are the same LUTs he uses in all of his works.
“If you want to take your video production to the next level, I’m sure these LUTs will help you step up your work instantly!”
Of course, you can. Most of our customers are beginners, and all of our LUTs can give your videos a professional look with just a few clicks. With that said, keep in mind that LUTs aren’t a one-click solution. They’re supposed to serve as a bridge between you and your ultimate output. You’ll get the best results if you start with a LUT and then customize it to your liking. If you’re familiar with fine-tuning the exposure, the white balance, and the contrast, then you can use the LUTs for sure.
The Outdoor Collection includes 30 Cinematic Video LUTs (.cube files) designed for outdoor filmmaking, and 1 PDF Installation Guide for Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2015.3+, Adobe After Effects CC 12.1+, DaVinci Resolve 15.1+, and Final Cut Pro X 10.4+.
The Outdoor Collection is designed to work at its best with footage shot using a LOG profile, which in simple terms, is an extremely flat and low contrast setting profile that is built-in most of the modern cameras.
A few examples below:
C-Log or Canon Log on Canon cameras
D-Log on DJI UAV cameras
F-Log on Fujifilm cameras
N-Log on Nikon cameras
S-Log on Sony cameras
V-Log on Panasonic cameras
Please, make sure your camera has a built-in LOG profile before you proceed with the purchase.
A log profile is a shooting profile, found on most modern digital cameras that gives you a wide dynamic and tonal range, allowing more latitude to apply color and style choices. Using LOG profiles retains shadows and highlights details that would otherwise be lost if a regular linear profile had been used. The resulting image appears washed out and requires color grading, and this is where our Video LUTs come into play, giving your videos a professional look in just a few clicks. If you’re looking for a cinematic style, it’s more than suggested to use LOG profiles.
The LUTs are profiled for generic LOG and can be used with any camera that has a LOG profile built-in.
The only thing you need to set is the LOG profile on your camera, before start recording. Other than that, the LUTs do not require any special adjustments on the camera to work properly.
No, it’s not necessary. You can shoot in RAW format if you want, do the basic color adjustments and then apply the LUT from our collection. If you shoot in RAW, then you’ll have even more flexibility on color grading before and after applying a LUT, but this is not a requirement.
All the applications that can import a .cube file as a Look-Up Table are compatible with our LUTs.
A non-exhaustive list below:
Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2015.3 or later
Adobe After Effects CC 12.1 or later
DaVinci Resolve 15.1 or later
Final Cut Pro X 10.4 or later
Please, bear in mind that it’s your responsibility to verify that your software is compatible with .cube files before proceeding with the purchase. Refunds will not be issued to customers who contact our support team to claim The Outdoor Collection Video LUTs aren’t compatible with their software.
Each camera has a different image sensor that records by using a specific image profile. Other than that, outdoor videos are filmed in natural light, which means that every single footage needs to be fine-tuned before and maybe after applying the LUT to properly work on each light situation.
The collection comes with a detailed PDF Installation Guide for:
Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2015.3 or later
Adobe After Effects CC 12.1 or later
DaVinci Resolve 15.1 or later
Final Cut Pro X 10.4 or later
For any other applications and/or older versions from the list above, we recommend doing a Google or Youtube search by entering keywords like “How to import .cube file into” followed by the name and the version of the software you usually use for editing videos. In some cases, using a third-party plugin could be necessary. Please, bear in mind that it’s your responsibility to verify that your software is compatible with .cube files before proceeding with the purchase. Refunds will not be issued to customers who contact our support team to claim the Outdoor Collection Video LUTs aren’t compatible with their software.
Once purchased, you can use the LUTs as long as you want. Please, do not share the files with other people as it violates the terms of use.
